Distance and Proximity Sensors

Ultrasonic sensors detect the distance to objects without contact, regardless of color and material. The same principle is used by bats to recognize position and distance. PIL relies on more than 30 years of experience in design, development and production of these object detection sensors and non-contact detection. The sensors are extremely robust, work under extreme conditions, and are resistant to dust and moisture.

PIL sensors operate based on the time of flight measurement principle of ultrasonic pulses also known as ultrasonic waves. They use automated processes to determine position and distance of objects.

Proximity switches, capacitive and photoelectric sensors are capable of detecting objects within fixed distances. However, these measurements depend on surface structure, color and material of the objects.

The ultrasonic proximity sensors from PIL have been developed to overcome such restrictions in the range of applications. Additionally, the majority of requirements for measuring distance can be met.
