  4. Nicholas was known for sharing his wealth and possessions with the poor and sick
  5. Modern traditions include putting boots/shoes outside (not forgetting to include a few carrots for his horse) on the night of December 5th or December 6th for St. Nicholas to leave gifts and treats.
